Technology has a way of
influencing every aspect of our lives, including our relationships
with our pets. In the future, you may find yourself spending quality
time with your animal companions from thousands of miles away using a
web camera and a mobile phone thanks to an ingenious device called
the Petcube. However, you should know that nothing can replace your
personal touch and care when it comes to your pets, particularly in
meeting their most basic needs.
Much like humans, all
animals require food and shelter to survive; two things that modern
gadgets can never replicate. When feeding your pets, always make sure
that they're eating what they should
eat,
as opposed to giving them leftovers from your dinner table. This is
because different animals have drastically different dietary needs
that are very distinct from humans. For instance, chocolate and
garlic can be lethal to dogs.
Another thing that you
should always personally provide your pet is shelter. While your
house can suffice, you should always be ready to tend to your pets'
more primal needs which you can't meet without special pet supplies.
Dogs need rubber toys to bite on so they won't chew on your
upholstery and furniture while cats need separate litter boxes so
they won't just pee anywhere.
